The snow stopped in Minneapolis, but it was still really windy and cold. I wasn't too thrilled about our 5AM wake up call. Pudge and I are definitely late sleepers. It's ruff being activist dogs. Arf-Arf! Today we drove to Sioux Falls, SD - about a 5 hour drive from MN. Lots of flat land that goes for miles and miles.

I wonder if restaurants deliver here? We stopped at a Country Kitchen for a quick bite. (Again, we had to sneak in. Go figure). I may be only 9 inches tall, but I have to make an observation about this wonderful country of ours. From my P.O.V (point of view) it's looking all the same! The truck stops, the restaurants, even the radio stations - they all look and sound the same. What happened to the Mom & Pop stores and the little diners I saw during the primaries? ( Remember when Hilary was in that cute restaurant and cried?). Every time we've pull off the highway to find a bite to eat, it's all fast foods or big chains. That's so wrong. I'm still rooting for the unique little guy . . . like me :)

Schmitty & Pudge out-standing in their field!

Wow! They make apartments really big in South Dakota! Our mission in Sioux Falls was to visit the 2nd Chance Rescue Center and get some attention/press for them. It worked! KSFY, the ABC station in town came out to report on BARK THE VOTE and tell the story of of the homeless pets at 2nd Chance. http://www.barkthevote.org/btv-live.html. I hope we touched lots of folks and they went to 2nd Chance to adopted a pet.

BTV Assistant Elly just can't understand why anyone would give up these precious pups. I can't understand it either.

Top Dog Rosie, the founder of 2nd Chance, gives a kitty a big bear hug.

Attention humans - won't you adopt this sweet pup? Call 605-362-1722 right now!

The humans at 2nd Chance take a much needed break to say "Cheese" . . .
Shelters are not an easy place for me to visit. Seeing all those beautiful faces just wanting to be loved and so deserving of a nice home of their own instead of a pen is really hard. But I give 2nd Chance a four paws up! All the rooms are bright with fun paintings on the wall and the pooches, kitties, rabbits and hamsters all get lots of love and hugs each day. (I do think they stopped hugging at the snake cage!). Ms. Rosie and her staff ROCK/BARK!

Top Dog Rosie stands head and shoulders above the pack when it comes to caring for animals! Next stop - Omaha! Arf-Arf, Schmitty, The Real New Yorkie
